How it works
Hold the button, speak, and OLI transcribes, translates, and speaks the translation back to you. Speech recognition, translation, and speech synthesis all run on your device using on-device Apple Speech, CTranslate2, and Supertonic, so nothing you say has to leave your phone.

Optional Whisper recognition
For supported languages, OLI can use the multilingual Whisper Base Q5 speech recognizer. The model downloads once, is checked against a SHA-256 checksum before use, and then runs fully on-device like every other part of the app.
